About the Clinical Councils
To ensure we benefit from the experience of frontline health practitioners, Adelaide PHN has established three Clinical Councils which are geographically based.
- Northern Adelaide Clinical Council
- Central Adelaide Clinical Council
- Southern Adelaide Clinical Council
Clinical Councils comprise a mix of health professionals including GPs, allied health, nurses, hospital administration, pharmacists and Local Health Network representatives.
They provide intelligence to the Adelaide PHN on local health conditions and disease trends, workforce needs and capacity, the efficiency of service delivery models and coordination and linkages between services and access barriers for vulnerable groups. Council members provide valuable feedback on clinical issues and the unique needs of their respective communities
The views of Clinical Councils are also essential to informing and contributing to the Health Needs Assessment of the region and Activity Work Plans to address those needs. They meet quarterly.
