Health Priority Network Adelaide PHN - An Australian Government Initiative

Health Priority Network

The Health Priority Network bring together health professionals, service providers and community members to work collaboratively to provide input into the strategic direction and work of Adelaide PHN.  (The Network is a new model of membership uniting the members from the former Health Priority Groups)

The Network represents the nationally identified health priorities of mental health, alcohol and other drugs, Aboriginal health and older people’s health.  The locally identified health priorities of disability, culturally and linguistically diverse people’s health, children and young people’s health, consumers and carers and palliative care are also key interest areas for Network members.

The Network assists the Adelaide PHN by identifying:

  • the barriers and enablers for each population group to the promotion of population health, eHealth and workforce initiatives
  • any barriers to clinical or service participation in the commissioning process
  • the vulnerable groups and barriers to their participation and engagement in the commissioning cycle
  • any gaps in the spread of services across the primary health care spectrum broadly or for a specific population group or region and the implication of these on the broader health and primary care system.

Members of the Network are encouraged to participate in workshops, forums, working groups, planning, co-design and needs assessment based on their identified areas of interest and the Adelaide PHN commissioning cycle.
