Adelaide Primary Health Network (APHN) is a commissioning, independent, not for profit primary health organisation and employer of choice.  We exist to improve the health and wellbeing of the Adelaide community by coordinating and integrating primary health services and by working in partnership to identify local needs and create strategies aimed at improving health outcomes.

We are currently seeking an experienced Data and Evaluation Officer to fill a maternity leave contract within our established Developing and Commissioning team.

The Data and Evaluation Officer contributes to the implementation of the organisation’s evaluation framework. The position works closely with the Research and Evaluation Officer to develop a knowledge base around commissioned programs relevant to Adelaide PHN. The Data and Evaluation Officer will assist in developing data capture tools, write evaluation reports for internal and external audiences and undertake related program data analysis. The Data and Evaluation Officer may also work with the Health Planning & Analysis Officer to develop a knowledge base around health needs, services and programs relevant to APHN.

Along with proven research skills utilising qualitative and quantitative research methods and high level evaluation, data and analysis skills and report writing, it is expected that the successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the following:

  • conducting reviews and evaluations of health-related projects;
  • research and critical analysis of population and health related data;
  • collection, collation and analysis of research and evaluation data; and
  • the preparation of comprehensive reports with recommendations.

You must also have knowledge of data management including privacy principles and the principles of evaluation frameworks as well as proven knowledge:

  • of the Australian primary health care sector;
  • in social determinants of health with a population health focus; and
  • in research methodological skills and capacity to interpret findings including statistical analysis.

Qualifications in public health, social science, evaluation or public/health sector management are highly desirable, but not essential if you have significant relevant experience in these sectors.

12 month position (maternity leave cover), 8 days/fortnight with flexibility to extend hour to cover leave
