Session inclueds:

  • Normal parenting, risk and protective factors for mental health problems perinatally, the course of problems postnatally, grief loss trauma
  • Dual diagnosis: drugs, alcohol, severe mental illness and infants
  • Impact of  domestic violence and Aboriginal family violence
  • Extended families and social views which guide perinatal mental health work
  • Fathers
  • Depression and Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Cultural aspects of perinatal health
  • Normal psychology of pregnancy and motherhood  
  • The importance of maternal mental health in pregnancy
  • Psychological counselling approaches: CBT, mindfulness and ACT
  • Couples and perinatal work
