1800MEDICARE campaign is now underway

The national 1800MEDICARE campaign is now underway. Led by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (the Department), the campaign promotes 1800MEDICARE, a free 24/7 service available by phone, online and via the 1800MEDICARE app.

The campaign aims to increase awareness and understanding of 1800MEDICARE among healthcare providers and the people they support, so consumers can access reliable, government‑backed health information, be guided to the most appropriate service for their needs and make better use of existing services. The 1800MEDICARE app plays a key role in making these services more accessible. It also aims to support more efficient use of the health system by helping consumers find the right care the first time.

What is 1800MEDICARE

1800MEDICARE is a free 24/7 service where consumers can speak to a registered nurse about any health concern and be connected to the right care.

Consumers can access 1800MEDICARE by calling 1800MEDICARE (1800 633 422), visiting the website, or using the 1800MEDICARE app to access trusted health information and advice.
