Balancing the Scales: Adelaide PHN Celebrates International Women’s Day

Our staff recently attended the International Women's Day (IWD) Breakfast on 6 March.

This year's theme for IWD was Balance the Scales and the Adelaide event helped raise funds for UN Women Australia.

Those in attendance at the Adelaide Convention Centre had the opportunity to hear from Australian of the Year Katherine Bennell-Pegg, the first Australian woman to receive professional astronaut wings.

Katherine delivered a powerful message, emphasising the importance of access to education and opportunity, regardless of gender, race or where you come from – highlighting a simple theme of following your dreams.

Her story highlights why supporting women's voices matter, and this event was another reminder of the importance of continuing to support and empower women and girls in workplaces, communities and beyond.
