They may be eligible to enrol in this innovative national study.
Hormonal changes associated with menopause can cause a variety of menopausal symptoms. Most women have symptoms for 5 to 10 years before their final menstrual period. Typical symptoms commonly reported by peri-and postmenopausal women include hot flushes, night sweats, sleeping difficulties, bodily aches and pains, dry skin, vaginal dryness, loss of libido, urinary frequency, mood changes, symptoms of depression and anxiety, and memory changes.
Although 20% of women experience no menopausal symptoms, every woman is affected by menopause in some way. Therefore, menopausal symptoms significantly influence women’s health and quality of life. This study aims to assess the potential effectiveness of medicinal cannabis in managing menopause related sleep disorder over a 6-month duration.
NICM Health Research Institute supported by Cannim Group are committed to Australians receiving the right care in the right place at the right time, and if the findings of this study show that medicinal cannabis is a safe and effective treatment option for women, it will give Australian women one more option to consider as a part of their personalised menopause management journey; a GP-led option, in the community.
