Developing your Cultural Intelligence Training
Adelaide PHN staff recently participated in the ‘Developing Your Cultural Intelligence’ Workshop, facilitated by the Multicultural Communities Councils of SA (MCCSA). This engaging session featured insights from MCCSA staff members Ukash Ali Ahmed and Somi Lindsay, who spoke candidly about cultural diversity both in the workplace and in our personal lives.
Drawing on their own lived experiences, Ukash and Somi led discussions that explored and deepened our understanding of intercultural relationships with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. The workshop was designed to be interactive and foster an open, psychologically safe environment, allowing participants to express themselves without fear of confrontation.
MCCSA, the leading body serving and advocating for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in South Australia, played a crucial role in this educational initiative. Their expertise helped create a space where staff could freely explore their cultural intelligence, enhancing their ability to connect with and serve our diverse community more effectively.
This workshop was a valuable step forward in fostering a more inclusive and empathetic workplace, reflecting our commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of all our clients and colleagues.
