An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Board of Adelaide PHN, to help shape the health system to deliver better outcomes for vulnerable people, and a healthier Adelaide

Adelaide Primary Health Network (PHN) is seeking up to three (3) new Directors (one of whom must be a GP).

As a Board Director of Adelaide PHN, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and governance for Adelaide PHN.
  • Ensure cultural safety and inclusivity in decision-making.
  • Support the organisation’s strategic plan, policies, and compliance.
  • Attend monthly Board meetings, quarterly Board committee meetings, strategy sessions, and regular community engagement events.
  • Attend the Adelaide PHN’s Annual Health Equity Awards.
  • Represent Adelaide PHN to their respective communities.
  • Advocate for the PHN’s purpose and services as appropriate.

Adelaide PHN is seeking up to three Directors to fill identified skills’ needs and build the Board’s capabilities to support and guide the PHN’s continued rapid growth and the nature of its landscape.

We are seeking experienced Directors with strong connections and broad influential networks and understanding of the Primary Health Care sector.

Our Board is currently comprised of nine Directors.

As a result of its tenure process, applications are now being sought for up to 3 positions, one of whom will need to be a General Practitioner.

Skills being sought are:

  • A strong understanding of Primary Health including the Allied Health sector
  • An understanding of the commissioning environment
  • Digital health literacy
  • Health economics
  • An understanding of the legal and corporate requirements of the NFP sector/ ACNC regulated entities
  • Having a clear understanding of the role of the Board and its relationship with executive management
  • AICD qualification is desirable
