First Regional Training for Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Pilot
On Tuesday, 21 October, Adelaide PHN and Country SA PHN hosted the first in-person Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) Pilot training session in Whyalla, marking an exciting milestone for the program's regional rollout.
Delivered by the Women's and Children's Health Network (WCHN), the interactive session brought together 15 local general practitioners and primary health care staff to strengthen confidence, knowledge and referral pathways in responding to FDSV.
Participants shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, highlighting the practical insights, real-world case discussions and the value of connecting face-to-face with peers and the WCHN specialist team.
The Whyalla session is part of Adelaide PHN's FDSV and Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) Pilot. The training aims to build local capability within general practice for better responses to victim-survivors of FDSV and CSA.
We would like to extend thanks to WCHN for its expert facilitation and to the Whyalla general practice teams for their strong engagement and commitment to improving safety and wellbeing outcomes for individuals and families experiencing violence.
