Fourth 24/7 pharmacy opens at a new location: Hallett Cove

SA Health has now expanded the 24/7 pharmacy initiative to further improve access to medicines and health care when people need it most. 

The TerryWhite Chemmart located in the Pavilion Shopping Centre on Lonsdale Road in Hallett Cove has been supported by the South Australian Government to extend its operating hours to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – including public holidays. 

A pharmacist is now on staff 24 hours a day, offering walk-in access for health advice, medicines, and professional pharmacy services including dispensing prescription medicines. 

This new round-the-clock pharmacy service at Hallett Cove will help support other health services and reduce pressure on hospitals services, at the same time providing peace of mind for people in Adelaide’s south needing urgent access to medicines and health care. 

Four 24/7 pharmacies are now operating across Adelaide: 

• TerryWhite Chemmart, Pavilion Shopping Centre, Hallett Cove
• Chemist Warehouse, Clovelly Park
• National Pharmacies, Norwood
• Chemist Warehouse, Saints Shopping Centre, Salisbury Plain.

Demand for 24/7 pharmacies remains high, with over 320,000 after-hour patient visits, dispensing of over 125,500 prescriptions and receipt of more than 11,500 phone calls since commencing 24/7 operations at the initial three sites from February 2024 to June 2025. 

24/7 pharmacies are just one of many community pharmacy initiatives the government is supporting, to provide consumer choice, and access to an extended range of professional pharmacy services, to help reduce pressure on other parts of the health system.
