Free One-Day Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Training – 2026
The Women’s and Children’s Health Network is offering a free, one-day training session focused on Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. This initiative, funded by SA Health, aims to equip health professionals with essential skills to support mental health during the perinatal period.
Who Should Attend?
The training is designed for Adult Mental Health staff, Allied Health professionals, GPs, midwives, NGOs, obstetricians, drug and alcohol services, and both private and public sector health care professionals who work with antenatal or postnatal women and their infants.

- Attachment Theory in perinatal and infant mental health
- Lived experience perspectives
- Assessment tools: Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, Antenatal Risk Questionnaire, psychosocial risk assessment
- Managing risk and difficult conversations
- Parent-infant therapy

Training Details
- Dates: Friday 13 February & Friday 22 May 2026 (identical sessions; register for one only)
- Time: 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM (registration from 8:30 AM)
- Location: Learning and Development Building, Glenside Health Services, SA
- Cost: Free
Pre-Workshop Requirement
Participants must complete two e-learning modules via the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE):
- Module 1: Overview of mental health disorders in the perinatal period
- Module 2: Psychosocial assessment and screening
Allow 4–5 hours for completion before attending the onsite training.
