Free onsite vaccinations - COVID-19 vaccination in RACH

Adelaide PHN has partnered with Pop-Up Health to provide a fee-free COVID-19 vaccination service for aged care residents.

Pop-Up Health’s vaccination program is available to coordinate and deliver on-site COVID-19 vaccination clinics. This service is available for residents living in residential aged care homes in metropolitan Adelaide, until 30th June 2026.

COVID-19 vaccines are recommended:

• every 6 months for people aged 75 and over
• every 12 months for people aged 65 to 74
• every 12 months for people aged 18 to 64 with severe immunocompromise

The new Aged Care Act 2024 and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards strengthen the requirement for residential aged care providers to provide access to recommended vaccinations for their residents. This includes vaccines such as influenza, COVID-19, shingles and pneumococcal. Residential aged care homes are communal environments where infections including COVID-19 can spread rapidly. Vaccination remains the most effective protection against severe illness, hospitalisation and death from COVID-19.
