NALHN GP Education day 2

GP Education Day Strengthens Pathways and Connections

NALHN GP Education day 2

Adelaide PHN proudly funded the recent 2026 GP Education Day on 14 March, hosted by the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) GP Integration Unit (GPIU).

Facilitated by NALHN GP Integration Officers, Dr Emily Gibson and Dr Jai Krishnan, 70 general practitioners attended Lyell McEwin Hospital for a day of practical learning, collaboration and connection, with the program focused on strengthening partnerships between General Practice and NALHN.

The RACGP-accredited event enabled participating GPs to earn CPD points, with the additional opportunity for around 30 attendees to update their CPR requirement through complimentary training delivered by NALHN Medical Administration and Education Registrar, Dr Samuel Gluck.

The day also featured specialist presenters from NALHN to share updates on a wide range of topics relevant to primary care.

Sessions covered digital health initiatives across NALHN, supports and referral pathways available through SA Intellectual Disability Health (SAIDH), emergency department demand and hospital avoidance strategies, and a clinical update on chronic pain management.

The afternoon program continued with practical, GP-focused insights into lung cancer screening, geriatrics and dementia care, PSA screening, antenatal screening, and child development.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with GPs highlighting the relevance of topics to everyday practice and the value of clear referral pathways and service awareness. Many also noted the benefit of networking opportunities and the ability to connect directly with hospital clinicians.
