GPs Wanted: Join a National Study to Improve Genomic Resources in Primary Care
Adelaide PHN is pleased to support a research initiative led by the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University.
The project, Integrating Genomics into Primary Care: Insights from Australian GPs and Genomic Testing Laboratories on Point-of-Care Tools and Resources, aims to explore how general practices can be better supported in using genetic testing and screening in routine care. The research focuses on developing practical, point-of-care tools that assist GPs in identifying patients who may benefit from genomics, accessing relevant knowledge in real time, and communicating complex results effectively.
The research team is conducting interviews with Australian GPs and genomics testing laboratories to gather insights that will inform the design of these resources.
You are invited to participate in a 30-minute online interview via Teams or Zoom.
Your input will play a vital role in shaping genomic tools that enhance clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes in primary care. Participants will be offered a $50 gift card as a token of appreciation for their involvement in this study.
To express interest or request further information, please contact Dr Samran Sheriff at samran.sheriff@mq.edu.au.
This research is supported by the Australian Government MRFF, Genomic Health Futures Mission, and has ethics approval from Macquarie University Human Research Ethics Committee.
