Help Shape Better Access to PrEP: GPs Invited to Participate in National Survey

General Practitioners across Australia are being called on to contribute to an important new initiative aimed at improving access to HIV prevention. As part of the PrEP Empowerment Project, led by Charles Sturt University, GPs are invited to complete a short survey that will play a vital role in strengthening healthcare outcomes for young men, particularly in regional and rural communities.

Why Your Input Matters

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a highly effective medication that prevents HIV, yet access and uptake remain uneven—especially outside metropolitan areas. This survey seeks to better understand GPs’ knowledge, attitudes, awareness, and current practices related to PrEP.

Insights gathered will directly inform future strategies to:

• Improve access to PrEP
• Support GPs in delivering HIV prevention care
• Address barriers faced by young men in regional and rural Australia

The survey takes just 10 minutes to complete, making it a simple yet impactful way for clinicians to contribute to meaningful change in public health.
