Inklings pilot program SA - babies 6-18 months

Website banner

Inklings is a fully-funded program by the Government of SA and Commonwealth Government that responds to an identified SA community need. It supports babies aged 6 to 18 months who are showing early differences in their social interaction, emotional, and communication development. There are no out of pocket expenses for eligible families, with the program offering up to 10 fortnightly sessions with a supportive, trained Inklings practitioner (who have allied health/early childhood qualifications). We have 28 practitioners operating across metro and regional SA. Sessions are around 60 minutes. Short videos are recorded of the caregiver and baby in everyday play and these videos are reviewed together with the Inklings practitioner. The video provides a new way for caregivers to see special moments with their baby and build on their strengths in understanding and better responding to their baby’s unique communication cues. Inklings is delivered in a variety of locations including health clinics, children’s centres, at home or via telehealth.

All referrals are made via the website (below). Caregivers can self-refer, or they can be supported by a professional.
