Medicare Urgent Care Clinics Established Across Adelaide
Adelaide PHN supports establishment of four Medicare Urgent Care Clinics across the region.
The Australian Government has committed to invest $135 million dollars nationally to establish 58 Medicare Urgent Care Clinics across Australia, including five in South Australia (four in Adelaide), before the end of 2023.
Medicare UCCs aim to improve access to urgent care in a non-hospital setting and reduce the pressure on emergency department presentations by providing patients with acute, episodic care for urgent conditions that are not immediately life-threatening.
There are four Medicare UCCs established across the Adelaide south, outer south, central and western regions.
Elizabeth Medicare UCC
The Elizabeth Medicare UCC opened on Monday 23 October 2023, operating from the Elizabeth Medical and Dental Centre.
This clinic is expected to make a significant difference to patients across the northern regions of Adelaide and will ease pressure on the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

Operating hours: 10.00am - 8.00pm, 7-days per week (including public holidays)
Marion Medicare UCC
The Marion Medicare UCC opened on Monday 6 November 2023, operating from the Marion Domain Medical and Dental Centre.
Approximately 30% of presentations to the Flinders Medical Centre are for non-urgent or semi-urgent care, the opening of this clinic is expected to help cope the pressure on the hospital.

Western Medicare UCC
The Western Medicare UCC opened on Monday 4 December 2023, operating from the Old Port Road Medical and Dental Clinic.

Location: 1202-1210 Old Port Road, Royal Park
Operating hours: 10.00am - 8.00pm, 7-days per week (including public holidays)
Morphett Vale Medicare UCC
The Morphett Vale Medicare UCC opened on Thursday 28 December 2023, operating from Morphett Vale Family Practice.
The clinic is expected to take pressure off the Noarlunga Hospital where more than 45% of presentations are for non-urgent or semi-urgent care.

Operating hours: 8.00am - 7.00pm, Monday to Friday | 8.00am - 3.00pm weekends and public holidays
