Adelaide's healthcare landscape has been further strengthened with the opening of the fifth Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (MUCC) at Norwood Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, located at 201/203 The Parade, Norwood SA 5067. Officially announced by the Minister for Health, Disability, and Ageing, Mark Butler, the clinic will serve the Eastern Adelaide PHN region until June 2028.
Timely Care for Urgent Conditions
The Medicare Urgent Care Clinics are designed to provide quick and accessible care for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions, reducing the pressure on emergency departments and ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate treatment. This initiative supports Adelaide PHN's vision of delivering accessible and equitable healthcare to communities across the Adelaide PHN region.

- Minor infections

Not for Emergency Situations
While the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is ideal for treating non-life-threatening conditions, it's important to seek care at a hospital emergency department for severe or life-threatening symptoms, such as:
- Chest pain or tightness
- Breathing difficulties
- Severe burns or uncontrollable bleeding
- Poisoning
- Numbness or paralysis
- Unconsciousness, unresponsiveness, or seizures
- Ongoing fever in infants
Supported by Adelaide PHN
Funded by Adelaide Primary Health Network (Adelaide PHN) through the Australian Government’s PHN Program, this clinic aligns with Adelaide PHN’s mission to create a healthier Adelaide by providing timely care in the right place. This new facility represents a significant step forward in improving healthcare access in North-Eastern Adelaide, meeting the growing demand for urgent medical services.
