Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre now operating across two locations
The Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre now operates across two locations in Elizabeth, providing more ways for people to access the right mental health support at the right time.
The Oldham Rd, Elizabeth South location provides walk-in mental health support for people experiencing a mental health crisis or significant emotional distress. No appointment or referral is required.
The Gillingham Rd, Elizabeth location continues to provide short to longer-term mental health support through booked appointments, including peer support, counselling, psychological therapy, group-based therapy, and clinical care coordination.
The Oldham Rd location is co-located with the new 16-bed Crisis Stabilisation Centre, a short-stay therapeutic service for people experiencing significant a mental health crisis or distress. Together, the co-located services support more seamless pathways between services, helping people access the most appropriate care based on their needs.
Referral pathways remain unchanged. Health professionals should continue to refer people requiring short- to longer-term mental health support via the existing online referral form, available at: sonder.net.au/medicare-mental-health.
Individuals experiencing a mental health crisis who do not require an emergency response can be directed to attend the Oldham Rd location directly for walk-in mental health support.
