FDSV workshop 2

Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Pilot Workshop

FDSV workshop 2

In April, Adelaide PHN recently attended the Supporting the Primary Care Response to Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) PHN National Pilot Workshop, hosted by North Western Melbourne PHN and facilitated by The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI).

The two-day national workshop brought together PHN representatives to collaborate on advancing the strategic priorities of the FDSV Pilot. Attendees shared insights, challenges and actions to embed and strengthen system-wide responses to family, domestic and sexual violence in primary care.

Key moments included rich dialogue from four guest speaker panels:

  • Survivor Hub – sharing lived experience insights
  • No to Violence – perspectives of people using violence
  • NAPCAN Youth Speak Out – voices of young people from diverse communities
  • GP Clinical Panel – including Dr Johanna Lynch, Dr Naomi Rutten, and other clinical leaders reflecting on primary care responses

The FDSV pilot project aims to provide strategies for the primary care workforce to Recognise, Respond to, and Refer patients experiencing FDSV and child sexual abuse.

Together, we are working to shape a more trauma-informed, inclusive and effective response to FDSV across Australia.

Courtney Stribley (Senior Manager, Health System Integration & Innovation, CSAPHN), Aun Bertram (Program Lead – FDSV Pilot, Adelaide PHN), Dr Naomi Rutten (GP, Adelaide PHN & SA FDSV GP Advisory Panel member).
