PHN and Allied Health Roundtable

On Wednesday July 10, Adelaide PHN Strategy and Engagement Project Officer Priyanka Multani and Primary Care Reform Manager Krystle Meyers attended the PHN and Allied Health Roundtable, hosted by Brisbane South PHN. Supported by prominent health sector partners, including Allied Health Professions Australia, the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, this engaging event provided all attendees the opportunity to explore and expand on the Allied Health sector.
The one – day event delved into existing services and allied health programs, including pharmacist in general practice integration models, opportunities for collaboration between the allied health sector and PHNs and how primary healthcare can build on existing health models.
In addition to this, attendees were able to discuss potential collective action and collaboration across the healthcare system through policy and practice, drawing on a value-based healthcare framework and also the opportunity to hear from 25 PHNs.
The roundtable's focus on integrating pharmacists into general practice, enhancing cooperation between allied health sectors and PHNs, and leveraging value-based healthcare frameworks signifies a pivotal step towards a more cohesive and efficient healthcare system.
We extend our gratitude to Brisbane South PHN for hosting an educational and engaging event. This roundtable not only deepened our knowledge and understanding of Allied Health but also provided Adelaide PHN with valuable opportunities to foster new relationships and connections within the sector.
