New look for Adelaide PHN office space
Our office on Kaurna land (Mile End) have had an upgrade with our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) artwork added as frosted glass details to our meeting rooms.
As Adelaide PHN continues to build and strengthen respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations, we recognise the importance of creating safe and inviting spaces for everyone visiting the Adelaide PHN office as we showcase elements of our RAP journey.
Created in 2023, Jordan Lovegrove, a Ngarrindjeri man, has through this captured Adelaide PHN’s vision for reconciliation. A vision which commands courage, generosity, integrity and truth-telling. Adelaide PHN works in partnerships with community to identify opportunities to shape the health system and deliver better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Isander People, families and communities. We work to create a system that involves the whole community throughout the entire life-course and is inclusive of the social, emotional, and cultural wellbeing of the whole community.
This way of working is illustrated throughout our artwork with the large central meeting place being Adelaide PHN with the River Torrens representing the location. The smaller meeting places with pathways connecting them are the different health services and partners servicing the local communities depicted by the patterned backgrounds on the outside. The boomerangs represent the Adelaide PHN working with service providers and community to achieve equity of opportunity for positive health outcomes. The pathway going through the artwork is the waterways and the journey into the central meeting place. The footprints represent the Adelaide PHN, service providers and community coming together to achieve a reconciled Australia where culture is restored to a place of equity, dignity, and respect.
The frosted decal was installed by Ochre Dawn Creative Industries, who are proudly 100% Aboriginal owned and managed, and who like us Adelaide PHN that reconciliation is a path we walk together.
