RCRP and NEDC Update

We are pleased to share that the Right Care Right Place: Eating Disorder Care in My Community project has secured a further 2 years of funding through the National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) and the Australian Government. This next phase will focus on workforce development, strengthening referral pathways, embedding eating disorder safe practice, and supporting local services to deliver coordinated, confident care. RCRP will work with NEDC and local partners to identify priorities and continue improving access to the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

RCRP Project Highlights

Same Page 2026: Building Connections, Sharing Knowledge, Sustaining Hope

More than 60 professionals from across South Australia’s youth eating disorder sector attended Same Page 2026 in June, representing public, private, NGO, PHN-commissioned, and lived experience perspectives.

The aim was to strengthen collaboration, build connections, and share knowledge within the eating disorder sector.

Feedback was highly positive. 

• 93% felt more connected across the sector

• Lived experience remained central, with 98% agreeing it enhanced their understanding of safe and effective care.

•  84% said the event would positively influence their practice through stronger collaboration, improved referral pathways, increased confidence, and enhanced clinical decision-making.

SEDS Continues to Strengthen Eating Disorder Care Through the RCRP Project

Over the past year, SEDS has been a key partner in the RCRP project, supporting workforce development, service integration, and eating disorder safe practice across Adelaide PHN-commissioned services.

Working with 9 providers, SEDS trained 69 clinicians and peer workers and provided referral pathway education to more than 50 professionals, improving confidence in identifying, responding to, and supporting people experiencing eating disorders.

SEDS also strengthened collaboration across the sector through partnerships, workforce initiatives, and Same Page networking events. By combining clinical expertise and lived experience, SEDS has helped ensure a practical, person-centred approach to care. We look forward to continuing this partnership as the project enters its next phase.

The Service Navigator – Eating Disorder: Supporting Access to Care

The Neami National Service Navigator – Eating Disorder helps people experiencing eating disorders, families, carers, and professionals navigate South Australia’s service system and access appropriate support.

Since launching, the program has supported 211 consumers, with 181 progressing to a completed referral. In the past six months alone, it has assisted 42 consumers through outbound referrals, many with moderate-to-high support needs.
