Research opportunity: Endometriosis decision support tool (EndoOptions)

Adelaide PHN is supporting a Macquarie University research project evaluating an online decision support tool for endometriosis, EndoOptions.

EndoOptions is designed to complement GP care by helping patients understand evidence-based treatment options, including the benefits, risks and key considerations for each. The tool has been developed by a multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, researchers and people with lived experience, in line with International Patient Decision Aid Standards.

Macquarie University is currently recruiting participants for a randomised controlled trial to assess the effectiveness of the tool in supporting patient decision-making.

Eligible patients:

  • Aged 18 years or older
  • Living in Australia
  • Diagnosed with, or suspect endometriosis
  • Considering symptom management options

What participation involves:

  • Access to the EndoOptions online tool
  • Completion of four short online questionnaires over six months
  • $50 gift card upon study completion

GPs and primary care providers are encouraged to share this opportunity with eligible patients. A recruitment flyer (including QR code and contact details) is available to support patient discussions or display in practices.
