Shining a Light on Health Equity: Adelaide PHN’s 2025 Awards Night
On Saturday 23 August, Adelaide PHN celebrated our 2025 Health Equity Awards, a night dedicated to honouring the exceptional primary healthcare providers in our region, who are paving the way for a healthier and more equitable healthcare system.
Hosted at The Playford Hotel, the event was attended by Member for Boothby Louise Miller-Frost MP, and State Minister for Health and Wellbeing Chris Picton, who delivered powerful speeches on the importance of health equity in South Australia.
Guiding us through the evening was award-winning journalist, producer and presenter Caroline Winter, who returned as our MC to ensure a memorable night.
Lunch Bunch supplied beautifully crafted fruit towers for the table centrepieces, with this fresh food then donated to OzHarvest, whom Adelaide PHN is proud to be in partnership with, supporting the FEAST program in schools across Adelaide.
The evening began with a dynamic Welcome to Country by Ella Taylor, reminding us of the profound connection between health, culture and community.
The awards ceremony recognised five exceptional organisations for their dedicated work in providing equitable and accessible healthcare.
Recipients received a handcrafted trophy from Aboriginal artist Josh Rankine, from EtchTech Designs, which reflects the significance of the boomerang to the Kaurna people, symbolising their enduring connection to the land, their culture, and their ancestors.
To showcase the remarkable work of the winners, WatchPost filmed five engaging videos that were featured during the event.
The winners on the night were:
- Wellness Connect consortium, made up of Neami National, Life Without Barriers, Mind Australia, Skylight Mental Health, and Community Access and Services SA
- Youturn
- Survivors of Torture and Trauma Assistance and Rehabilitation Service (STTARS)
- Relationships Australia SA
