Showcasing Healthy Ageing Initiatives at Commissioning Innovation Showcase
Adelaide PHN attended the Commissioning Innovation Showcase in Newcastle on 16 to 17 September, bringing together PHNs from across the country to learn and share their commissioning experiences.
This year's theme was 'Connecting Commissioning - Building on a Decade of Innovation to Accelerate Change'. The showcase explored how to collaborate with consumers and co-produce services, the future of commissioning and how to work to jointly commission with system partners, and connecting process, technology and systems.
Seven Adelaide PHN employees were among the more than 150 attendees, hearing about projects that featured great outcomes for communities, plus other successes and learnings.
Nabil Rashid and Jodie Bell from the Primary Care team presented on Adelaide PHN's Early Intervention initiative on supporting healthy ageing and frailty in general practices.
Older Persons and Target Programs Manager Helen Exley discussed 'Prescriptions for Connection', a social prescribing program for healthy ageing in Adelaide, which is led by Flinders University in partnership with Adelaide PHN.
The showcase presented a great opportunity to hear challenges of balancing priorities and requirements, plus the innovative work to shift systems, make change and improve outcomes for our communities.
