Successful Collaboration for GP Shared Care Focus Group

Adelaide PHN, in partnership with the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN), delivered a successful GP Shared Care focus group on 23 June.

The session brought together seven general practitioners with a shared interest in supporting children with ADHD, who were able to provide meaningful feedback to the SALHN Paediatric team in relation to a new opportunity which looks at supporting children with ADHD via a collaborative care model.

Led by a multidisciplinary SALHN team, the group was highly engaged, supportive of the model and truly thankful for the opportunity to contribute to a model of care that will impact the work undertaken across primary care in the ADHD space.

The SALHN Paediatrics team gained valuable and practical feedback to support the proposed model of care and shared the next steps that look to move the model to implementation.

Feedback from the session was overwhelmingly positive. One GP shared, "As a GP, I highly appreciate this opportunity to build up the connection between paediatricians and GPs for the sake of our mutual children navigating the ADHD pathway. Feels great to know we are not alone."

This opportunity was made possible by the partnership between Adelaide PHN and SALHN, which supports the co-funded SALHN GP Integration Unit. Collectively, we continue to strengthen and build upon meaningful opportunities for integration across the health system.
