The Topsoil Garden Project - A nature-based therapy program in Norton Summit

The Topsoil Garden Project is thrilled to offer our Spring program in 2024. We are dedicated to creating transformative, nature-based therapies that offer compassionate care and foster a supportive community through gardening and connection to nature.

What is it? Evidence-based therapeutic horticulture program designed and delivered by skilled allied health professionals centered on enhancing personal wellbeing. This involves engaging in active, hands-on gardening and creating connections within the community and with peers.

Where is it? Sessions are held at an accessible garden space located near The Scenic Hotel, Old Norton Summit Road, Norton Summit, SA.

Is this for you? While we have experience working with a diverse range of people, you may want to consider the following to determine if this service is the right fit for you or someone you know:

  • Struggled to see results in traditional therapeutic settings.
  • Experiencing psychosocial disability (depression, anxiety, social isolation, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia etc.)
  • And/or a neurodivergent individual with specific needs, goals, and difficulties.
  • Enjoy nature, the outdoors and being active OR are curious about how nature could be a part of your life.

What is the cost? Our program is charged at $65 p/hr, and sessions are 2hr in duration. These sessions can be charged to your NDIS plan or can be charged to a Mental Health Care Plan as group therapy (plans include 10 group sessions in addition to individual sessions). Please note that we cannot currently accept agency-managed participants. Optional psychology, counselling and/or speech pathology sessions can be charged to your NDIS plan, rebated through a Medicare mental healthcare plan or fee-paying.

How do I join? Join Topsoil or refer someone else via email. Our email is care@topsoilgarden.org. Due to our commitment to quality, spots are currently limited. Enrolment in this transformative gardening journey will be based on group dynamics. However, don't worry! We will consider all expressions of interest as soon as we expand our service offering.
