UPDATE: my health app to be renamed the 1800MEDICARE app
The Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) has announced that from 1 January 2026, the my health app will be renamed the 1800MEDICARE app.
Consumers will continue to use the app to access their My Health Record as usual. The renaming supports ADHA’s broader work to streamline access to digital health tools.
What’s changing?
- All existing features will remain available.
- New functionality will be introduced over time, including preventative screening reminders and notifications for test and scan reports.
- Recent enhancements have made it easier for users to manage privacy and access settings linked to My Health Record.
- From 1 January, consumers are encouraged to enable automatic updates or manually search “1800MEDICARE” in their app store.
What practices need to know
The name change may affect any current practice materials referencing the my health app or its logo. ADHA is reviewing requirements, and we will contact you if there are any new updates to practice resources.
