Adelaide Primary Health Network (PHN) is hosting an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Education Series for Doctors and General Practice Managers working in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) region.

Adelaide PHN will provide attendees with a two-course meal and soft drinks at no cost for registered participants. Availability is limited and registered participants will be expected to attend both training sessions. Participants are expected to arrive at 6pm for a 6.30pm start and the event will conclude at 9.30pm.

The AOD training has been developed and will be delivered by Dr. Chris Holmwood and Dr. Matthew Stevens.

Chris is an Addiction Medicine Specialist with a long-standing interest in helping GPs provide good care for people with substance use problems. Chris was previously a GP and an examiner for the RACGP for more than 20 years.

Matthew is a Senior Research Specialist working at Adelaide University and Flinders University. His research is focused on biomedical, public health and psychological approaches to identifying, preventing and treating substance use disorders and behavioural addictions.
