EASSI-PC antimicrobial stewardship- Adelaide University

Doctor with patient

Antimicrobial stewardship is most effective when evidence, education, and clinical practice work together. This edition of the EASSI-PC newsletter showcases Australian research exploring sustainable strategies to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use, including insights into implementing educational interventions across primary care settings. Readers will also discover co-developed patient information tools that support shared decision-making, practical guidance on antibiotic use for acute rhinosinusitis, and opportunities to participate in the national EASSI-PC trial and upcoming GP education sessions. By supporting collaboration, research, and practice-based learning, EASSI-PC continues to empower GPs to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship across Australia.

Title:        You Decide: Navigating UTI Management in General Practice

Description:

Interactive case-based session on managing UTIs in general practice. Work through real consultation decision points with other GPs.

Join the EASSI-PC team for an interactive group learning session on managing urinary tract infections in general practice.
Using a "choose your own adventure" format, we'll work through a real-world scenario - a female patient presenting with UTI - and explore the decision points GPs face in consultation. This is a chance to learn from other GPs about how they approach these consultations, and to share your own reasoning in a supportive setting.
