Heavy, painful periods should not be considered a normal rite of passage for young women. If periods are interfering with the teenager's life and causing distress, treatment is needed.

Join Prof Sonia Grover (Gynaecologist and Pain Medicine Specialist; The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne; Murdoch Children’s Research Institute) for this important talk where she will share her clinical expertise and real-world experience about the best way to assess and manage adolescent girls who present with heavy and/or painful periods. The talk will also highlight the importance of recognising and treating these patients early to not only improve their quality of life at the time but also improve their long-term health outcomes, including their long-term fertility.

In addition, Prof Grover will be joined by an expert faculty where we will cover a range of topics relevant to primary care:

  • Tirzepatide compared to semaglutide for treatment of obesity - Latest evidence A/Prof Samantha Hocking
  • Genitourinary syndrome of menopause - Mythbusting for GPs A/Prof Gino Percoraro OAM
  • Winter virus preparations Prof Paul Griffin
