Hepatitis C in Primary Care
Hepatitis C treatment is simple and highly effective.
Primary care providers can play a crucial role in the elimination of hepatitis C in Australia by 2030. This 1.5-hour online workshop will provide an overview of the management of hepatitis C in primary care settings. Topics covered include the impact of hepatitis C-related stigma and discrimination, case finding, testing and diagnosis, assessment, treatment and monitoring.
Learning outcomes:
- Discuss the impact of stigma and discrimination on people living with, or at risk of, hepatitis C
- Identify indications for testing and how to diagnose hepatitis C infection
- Describe key elements of pre-treatment assessment
- Explain hepatitis C treatment and post-treatment monitoring
