Introductory Certificate in Infant and Perinatal Mental Health – 2025
Expressions of interest are now open for the Introductory Certificate in Infant Mental Health (ICIMH) and the Introductory Certificate in Perinatal Mental Health (ICPMH). These 10-week courses are designed for professionals working with infants, toddlers, pregnant and postnatal women, and their families. Sessions will run on Wednesday afternoons from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm, with options to attend remotely via MS Teams for rural and remote clinicians.

These programs provide foundational knowledge, enhance confidence in practice, and offer opportunities for group discussions, case studies, and reflection.
Eligibility and fees
The courses are open to midwives, childcare workers, mental health professionals, and others working in related fields.
- Full fee: $600
- Discounted fees:
- WCH staff, CaFHS, full-time students: $300
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers: $100
- CAMHS staff: No fee (with manager approval)
Each successful participant will receive a certificate upon completion.
How to apply
Expressions of interest are required to tentatively secure a place, with enrolments confirmed if you meet the criteria. Full payment is required on acceptance into the course. As places are limited, early submission is encouraged.
