A comprehensive National Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Immunisation Program commenced this year, consisting of:

  • The National Immunisation Program (NIP) funding Abrysvo® vaccine for eligible pregnant women
  • The South Australian Government funded program, RSV monoclonal antibody (mAb), Nirsevimab®, for eligible infants whose mothers were not vaccinated in pregnancy, aged up to eight months and eligible infants with specific medical risk factors aged up to 24 months.

As part oft he ongoing communication strategy supporting the program, GP immunisation providers are invited to attend an online interactive forum where the SA Health Immunisation Section team and the Chief Public Health Officer, Professor Nicola Spurrier, will deliver an update on program implementation to date and facilitate a question and answer session.

SA Health anticipates this session will provide the opportunity to gain valuable input from GP providers that will assist with continuous program improvement.
