
Update on RSV disease and prevention

RSV is a common and very contagious respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms, however it is the most common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia among infants under 1 year of age. It can also cause serious illness in young children, and older adults.
In South Australia, infections are most common during winter and early spring.
This session will discuss:
1. RSV disease, epidemiology and complications.
2. Current management of patients with RSV.
3. Prevention options available in Australia and overseas.
