What is the role of a dietitian in responding to eating disorders?
A workshop to support action across the stepped system of care.
During this special 90-minute workshop, dietitians will be supported to identify their role in the system of care and to devise strategies for driving systems-level change in eating disorders prevention and care. It draws upon NEDC’s stepped system of care framework, the National Eating Disorders Strategy, and implementation science frameworks to guide participants in developing actionable plans.
Participants will:
- Develop/deepen their understanding about the eating disorder system of care and the role of dietitians across prevention, identification, and response to eating disorders across role and context and as part of the multidisciplinary team
- Develop/deepen their understanding of approaches to systems-level service change to improve care for people experiencing or at risk of an eating disorders, their families, supports and communities
- Identify change targets and levers for change at national, regional, and service level within their own contexts which align with the National Strategy
- Learn frameworks, models and approaches to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of systems-level change, underpinned by best practice evidence in implementation science
- Develop strategies and tools to drive service and system reform relevant to their own context(s), including the identification of information, resources, and connections to support action
This workshop will be hosted by NEDC, with the support from dietitians from across Australia.
