Palliative Care Access to Medicines Program

This project works with pharmacies and general practices to align the stocking and prescription of a set list of core medicines for the relief of the five commonly seen symptoms that cause significant distress during palliation: pain, dyspnoea, nausea, noisy breathing, and delirium. These symptoms can occur with rapid onset. Prescribing and stocking medicines from a set list enables timely access to pharmaceutical relief for these symptoms and is an important element for the care of end-of-life patients.
