Supporting The Primary Care Workforce

Adelaide PHN provide and commission a range of services, programs and activities to support and build capacity of the primary health care workforce in the Adelaide metropolitan area. We have a particular focus on general practice, but also support specialists, allied health, and pharmacy.

We commission a suite of services and activities to support local providers - from funding the provision of regular accredited education and professional development opportunities, to initiatives like the GP Psychiatry Support Line and Champion Nurse Immunisation Program (providing mentoring and direct support to immunisation providers).

We partner with other local stakeholders to co-fund and support programs like HealthPathways South Australia (an online portal providing access to comprehensive, evidence-based assessment, management, service and referral information), the SA Immunisation Hub, and the SA Primary Health Care Conference

More detail about these and our other primary health care provider focussed programs, activities and services can be found at the bottom of this page.

Adelaide PHN supports an active practice support team - our facilitators conduct regular visits to local practices to help connect providers to information and resources, and offer guidance about current Adelaide PHN opportunities. Our digital health team assist practices with support, education and resources including the expansion of My Health Record, the Practice Incentives Program (PiP), and eHealth incentive (or ePiP).
