Men B Incentive Payment Update

Men B Incentive Payment Update

A funding incentive from SA Health is available to support eligible general practices to deliver Bexsero vaccines as part of the South Australian Meningococcal B (MenB) Childhood Catch-up Program.

Following the July 2018 announcement of Australia’s first funded MenB Immunisation Program in South Australia, this incentive will support the provision of the MenB childhood catch-up program for children aged 12 months to less than 4 years as at 1 October 2018. Incentive payments are available until 31 December 2019 subject to funding availability.

To be eligible to receive funded Bexsero vaccine, general practices should have completed the SA Health Eligibility Assessment for State Funded vaccines: Meningococcal B vaccine to demonstrate adequate vaccine storage, monitoring and cold chain management processes. The SA Health Immunisation Section will assess this by providers completing an online survey (surveymonkey.com/r/N6VW2KY). If you are an immunisation provider in South Australia and have difficulty accessing the survey, contact the Vaccine Distribution Centre on (08) 742 57139.

On 4 October 2018, through administrative support from Adelaide Primary Health Network (PHN) and Country SA PHN, general practices in South Australia were invited to register to receive incentive payments (see original announcement here).

Registration Details

General practices who have previously registered with Adelaide PHN to receive incentive payments do not need to re-register. You will be contacted by Wednesday 15 May 2019 regarding the new funding arrangement and reporting process. If you have not been contacted by this date, please contact Krystle Meyers MenBincentive@adelaidephn.com.au

General practices who have not previously registered to receive MenB catch-up program incentive payments are now invited to register via the Adelaide PHN MenB Registration Form. Once registrations are received, you will be contacted within 7 days regarding reporting requirements and invoice submission details.

The Incentive

Incentive payments of $5.00 (excl GST)* will be paid for each MenB dose 1 and dose 2 administered:

  • to children aged over 12 months and those who were less than 4 years of age on 1 October 2018

  • from the date Adelaide PHN receives the completed Registration Form through to 31 December 2019 (subject to funding availability)

*note: this incentive payment figure reflects an increase from that previously communicated as the result of recent negotiations. Previously registered practices will receive information regarding the revised incentive payment figure shortly.

To receive payments, Adelaide metropolitan general practices who have registered will be required to submit an itemised invoice to Adelaide PHN quarterly.

All vaccines administered should be reported to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
