Primary Health Care Conference - less than two weeks to go!
Wednesday, June 05 2019
Adelaide PHN and Country SA PHN's jointly hosted SA Primary Health Care Conference is almost here (Friday 14 and Saturday 15 June 2019)!
We have received a huge level of interest from health professionals across South Australia - the main conference is sold out and only a few places remain on our GP-only Category 1 Mental Health Workshop. We have a record number of sponsors and exhibitors this year, and a great line-up of speakers!
The two days will provide delegates with the opportunity to engage with a range of experts through key note presentations, workshops and panel discussions.
- Allyson Hewitt
Don Dunstan Foundation Thinker in Residence
- Professor Ian Hickie
Co-Director, Health and Policy, Brain and Mind Centre, University of Sydney
- Alison Verhoeven
Chief Executive, Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association
- Dr Walid Jammal
GP, Hills Family General Practice, and Clinical Lecturer at The University of Sydney - Faculty of Medicine
There will be an opening address from The Honourable Stephen Wade, Minister for Health and Wellbeing on Saturday 15 June.
Visit saphnconference.com.au to see the full line-up of presenters.
- Aboriginal Cultural Walk
Join Kaurna Elder, Uncle Frank Wanganeen on the morning of Saturday 15 June for a walk along the Karrawirra Parri (River Torrens) to explore Kaurna culture and our shared history.
The walk starts at 7.45am and will wrap up just after 9.00am. Places are limited so get in early. Please register directly via Eventbrite here if you are interested.
- Early Career Networking
Are you in the early stages of your career and want to connect with other providers? Then join us in the R Bar on the Riverbank Promenade from 4.00pm on Saturday 15 June after the conference formally wraps up.
This small, informal event will be facilitated by Adelaide PHN's Innovation and Design Officer, Jane Goode. If you are interested, please email email@example.com.
- Mental Health Workshops
We are excited to be holding Mental Health Workshops on Friday 14 June.
The Mental Health Workshop (non-GP) is at capacity, but we do have limited places left for the GP-Only workshop. If you are a GP interested in low intensity, moderate and chronic/complex primary mental health treatments, and are available Friday 14 June from 8.00am to 5.00pm - please register here, category 1 accreditation applies.
We hope the SA Primary Health Care Conference leaves delegates inspired and ready to continue making a difference in primary health care, with new solutions to old problems.
To see the full line-up of speakers, check out the final program, or for more information please visit saphnconference.com.au.
