Update on the Primary Mental Health Care Services in Residential Aged Care Facilities Project

Adelaide PHN anticipates announcing the preferred provider of the Primary Mental Health Care Services in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF) Project before the end of January 2020.

This service involves the delivery of low intensity and psychological therapies (individual and group), available to eligible residents and delivered on-site at registered RACFs across the Adelaide PHN region.

As an innovative service being introduced across the whole Adelaide PHN region, a phased implementation process will be undertaken. Services will not be available across the Adelaide PHN region immediately but will commence promptly following the announcement and continue to expand over the coming months.

RACFs must be registered for the Project in order for their residents to access services. Due to the in-reach nature of service delivery, the registration process involves the RACF working with the service provider on any requirements they have for visiting professionals. Although the provider has not yet been announced RACFs can now commence this registration process.

For more information about the services being provided, eligibility criteria for both residents and RACFs, and the RACF registration form - please see the RACF Implementation Guide attached to this announcement.
