To help your practice identify and manage hearing loss in patients, Australian Hearing has developed a Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) activity, complete with a toolkit and educational resource.
PDSA activities can be submitted to the RACGP QI&CPD program to be recognised for 40 self-directed category 1 points and can be used towards practice accreditation.*

Free Heart Foundation resources to support patients in primary care services.
‘My heart, my life’ (MHML) is a secondary prevention resource for patients with coronary heart disease. It provides practical support for their heart condition and care after hospital discharge. Funded by SA Health, it is freely available to primary care services. Cardiac nurses have been distributing MHML to eligible patients in SA hospitals since 2010. We hope that patients who did not receive a copy of MHML in hospital will be given one at their primary care service. Mater Group is pleased to launch an online practice implementation module which provides a comprehensive guide for clinicians and managers to establish a functional diabetic retinopathy screening service.
The online module is based on the findings of a three year National Health and Medical Research Council trial and includes perspectives of patients and practitioners regarding optimal screening suitable for urban, rural and Aboriginal Medical Service Settings. Tonic Health Media produces and distributes evidence-based health content to consumers in medical waiting rooms utilising the recently acquired INFO-MED brochure and poster boards and via the TonicTV network, and across all digital devices.

The benefits to GPs and practices are better informed patients, increased community health literacy and the opportunity to promote services and health information through utilisation of time on the TV screens.

TonicTV is provided FREE of charge to general practice. Practices receive a high definition TV screen, all hardware, software, professional installation and ongoing customer service at no cost. The system supports practices to meet patient information requirements in the RACGP standards for general practice accreditation.
