The presentation will allow general practice staff to fulfil their cultural awareness requirements for the Practice Incentives Program (PIP) - Indigenous Health Incentive.
Course outline:
- Dealing with health issues peculiar to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Awareness, knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and of Torres Strait Islander histories, values, belief systems, experience and lifestyles
- Potential barriers to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people receiving adequate care
