Topic: Managing Chronic Pain and the role of opioids
Chronic pain is more common than diabetes. 1 in 5 patients in our practices will be experiencing chronic pain and less than 30% will be receiving optimum care. Dr Chris Bollen will discuss the common understandings of pain and how this corresponds with approaches to managing patient’s pain within the general practice setting. The session will explore why there is a focus on the use of opioids and discuss alternative methods for pain management.
