Adelaide PHN Launches Second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

Adelaide PHN Launches Second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

We are pleased to announce the launch of our second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan at the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre at Warriparinga on Tuesday 26 September 2023.

The Innovate RAP reflects our commitment to meaningful and respectful engagement with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and strengthening and establishing new partnerships.

We were honoured to have our valued stakeholders, including our RAP Working Group and Aboriginal Advisory Council, to mark this milestone and pave the way to achieving an equitable and inclusive health care system for everyone.

Our Board Director, Shane Mohor was our MC for the launch, which included a Welcome to Country by Corey Turner, an address from Adelaide PHN Chair of Board, Tom Symonds, and our Reconciliation Working Group members.

Through our RAP, we will

  • Guide our programs, services, and partnerships to enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to achieve their best health outcome.
  • Plan our journey to become a culturally safe and competent organisation.
  • Strengthen our relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leaders and organisations.

While we’ve made considerable progress since our first RAP, we acknowledge that we still have a long journey ahead of us as an organisation.

We thank our staff, and members of our Aboriginal Community Advisory Council who have given their time and expertise to contribute to the development of this RAP. We also extend our thanks to Reconciliation Australia for their guidance and support and welcome their continued leadership in advancing reconciliation.
