Adelaide PHN – Pregnancy Babies and Children Expo

Adelaide PHN was delighted to host an Immunisation Hub during the 2024 Pregnancy Babies and Children’s (PBC) Expo, held from April 13 to April 14 at the Royal Adelaide Show Grounds. The PBC Expo stands as Australia’s largest and the world’s longest-running parenting expo. Showcasing well-known baby brands, expert talks and classes, important health updates for families and the latest innovations, all under one roof.
Adelaide PHN Immunisation Coordinator Angela Newbound was joined by a team of dedicated nurses from local councils and general practices who volunteered their time and expertise. Over the course of two days, they provided valuable information to 1,000 attendees on vaccines for people planning a pregnancy, pregnant women, and their partners. The team also provided advice to grandparents on the importance of the Pertussis booster and flu and shingles vaccinations.
The team also provided advice and resources on the number of places offering vaccinations for children and expecting mothers.
Overall, the weekend was nothing short of a success, with a total of 6,013 visitors attending the expo. We would like to thank the team for their hard work over the two days and to everyone who visited the hub to learn and engage with the team.
