Course Outline
The Contraceptive Implant (Implanon NXT) Training for Registered Nurses and Midwives is an interactive session, incorporating theoretical instruction and simulated practical application.
Participants will:
- Engage with theory training regarding counselling and assessment prior to inserting the contraceptive implant.
- Develop an understanding of administration of local anaesthetic, insertion and removal procedure, and management of complications.
- Demonstrate practical learning with simulated training on model arms.
- Learn about the management of complications and bleeding changes with Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives.
Enrolment Options
The Contraceptive Implant (Implanon NXT) Training has two options for enrolment: Face-to-Face and Hybrid.
Face-to-Face Course – Onsite 2-hour theory workshop and simulation training.
Hybrid Course – Online theory module and 1-hour onsite simulation training.
If you are enrolling in the Hybrid course please select the appropriate date for the face-to-face simulation workshop, information on your online theory modules will be sent post-enrolment.
