Healthy Ageing: transitioning from a disease model

Time: 6:00pm-8:30pm

Venue: 313 Payneham Road, Royston Park South Australia 5070

As the percent of the population over 65 years increases, so too does the percent of those with chronic diseases, consuming the ever diminishing resources. Yet the remarkable advances in epidemiological, mechanistic and translational information provides the knowledge needed to transition from a disease based model to a personalised preventative one which is inclusive of individual, collective and planetary wellbeing. We have the knowledge-it is time to use it. The current disease model is simply inefficient, inequitable, unethical and unsustainable.
